Update 1: Homicide investigation, Maryborough

A 22-year-old man is currently assisting police with their inquiries at the Maryborough police station in relation to the location of a deceased woman at Maryborough this morning.
Initial inquiries indicate that the parties involved in this incident are known to each other.
Police are continuing appeals to any members of the public who were travelling in the area shortly before 5 am this morning, who observed any suspicious behaviour or who may have dash-cam footage in the area to contact them.
Investigations are continuing.

Unlawful use of motor vehicle and property charges, Ashmore

Police have charged a man and a woman after the stolen vehicle they were allegedly driving was tracked by POLAIR travelling in the Ashmore area early this morning.
At about 3am, the police helicopter began tracking the vehicle overhead, enabling police to successfully deploy a tyre deflation device at the intersection of Ashmore Road and Heeb Street.
The vehicle was intercepted by police near the intersection of Nerang Southport Road and Kamholtz Place and the male driver and his female passenger were taken into custody.
A 25-year-old Southport man has been charged with a total of 11 offences including burglary, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, stealing, receiving tainted property and obstructing police.
A 30-year old woman has been charge with a total of seven offences including burglary, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing and receiving tainted property.

Appeal for assistance: Armed robbery and unlawful wounding, Nambour

Sunshine Coast detectives are appealing for public information as they continue to investigate the robbery and unlawful wounding of an 18-year-old man in Nambour overnight.
Around 10pm the victim left a premises on Short Street when he was approached by a male teen, who asked for a lift.  The victim reluctantly complied and drove the teen to Blackall Terrace.
The teen then demanded that the victim hand over his car.  The victim refused and the teen then produced a knife and stabbed him several times in the upper body.
The teen then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, a red 2013 Volkswagon Golf hatchback with Queensland Registration 649YHL (similar to that pictured).
The teen is described as Caucasian, approximately 17-years-old, 170cm tall, skinny build with light brown or blonde hair and was wearing a dark coloured Adidas baseball cap, black t-shirt with Adidas logo on front and grey or black coloured tracksuit pants.

Fatal traffic crash, Home Hill

Police are investigating a single vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred at Home Hill early this morning.
Preliminary investigations indicate that at about 12.20am a quad bike travelling along McDowell Road has struck a drain throwing the male rider from the vehicle.
A 20-year-old Ayr man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Homicide investigation, Maryborough

Detectives are appealing for information in relation to a current homicide investigation following the location of a deceased woman at Maryborough this morning.
Preliminary information indicates shortly after 5am police and other emergency services responded to reports of a disturbance at a Ferry Street motel.
A short time later the woman was located outside the motel and pronounced deceased at the scene.
A crime scene has been established with detectives and forensic officers attending.
Police are appealing to any members of the public who were travelling in the area shortly before 5am this morning or who observed any suspicious behaviour in the area to contact them.

Vehicle and weapon offences, Petrie

Police have arrested and charged a man and a woman following an alleged chase in the Bray Park and Petrie areas yesterday evening.
A about 10pm, an alleged stolen black Audi was tracked by police helicopter throughout the north Brisbane area.
Police successfully deployed two tyre deflation devices along Samsonvale Road at Bray Park.
The vehicle continued onto Gympie Road, Petrie where it came to a stop near Wylie Park.
It is alleged a male occupant of the vehicle fled the scene on foot and entered North Pine River where he swam approximately one kilometre downstream before surrendering himself to police.
Police arrested a woman and allegedly located a firearm at the location of the Audi.
A 32-year-old Nanango man is charged with three counts of stealing and one count each of burglary, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Suspicious unit fire, Kangaroo Point

Police are investigating a suspicious unit fire that occurred at Kangaroo Point early this morning.
At about 1am, police attended the unit complex in River Terrace where the unit was observed to be fully engulfed in flames.
The unit block was evacuated, and no persons were injured as a result of the fire.
Investigations are continuing.

Attempted murder charge, Hervey Bay

Police have charged a man with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing incident at Hervey Bay yesterday evening (November 2).
It is alleged at about 7pm at a motel on Charlton Esplanade, a man received multiple stab wounds to his back and neck.
The man was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital for treatment in a critical condition.
A 47-year-old Townsville man has been charged with one count of attempted murder and will appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on November 5.

Armed robbery charge, Mount Louisa

A 16-year-old boy has been charged following an incident overnight involving a taxi.
At around 1am, it will be alleged a 30-year-old taxi driver was assaulted by his passenger, causing the vehicle to crash into a fence on Kathleen Court.
It will further be alleged the driver was threatened again while demands were made for his taxi and belongings.
The driver exited the vehicle on Christian Court and it will be alleged the passenger drove away in the taxi.
Police will allege they located the boy and vehicle a short time later in Plumtree Lane.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.

Update 4: Wangetti Beach homicide investigation – Crime Stoppers displays

Police investigating the death of 24-year-old Toyah Cordingley will be manning Crime Stoppers display in both Wangetti Beach and Rusty’s Markets over the weekend in the hope of obtaining further information from the public.
The Wangetti Beach display will be set-up on Saturday and Sunday (October 27 and 28) from 7am to 5pm
The Rusty’s Markets display will be operating from 7am to 5pm on Saturday and 7am to 3pm on Sunday.
Detective Inspector Sonia Smith again thanked the local community for their continued support and assistance.
“Crime Stoppers and Policelink have obtained a lot of information from the public, so far we’ve received more than 400 Crime Stopper files.
“Police will be handing out flyers and talking to members of the public at both Wangetti Beach and Rusty’s Markets over the weekend in the hopes of finding further information which could assist us with our investigation into Toyah’s death.”
