A man has died from injuries sustained in a serious, two vehicle traffic crash in Ayr on August 13.
At around 8am a semi-trailer travelling on Bower Street and a station wagon collided at the intersection of Drysdale Street.
The 66-year-old male driver of the station wagon was airlifted to the Townsville Hospital with life-threatening-injuries where he died last night.
The 53-year-old male truck driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Forensic Crash Unit officers continue to investigate the crash.

Robbery charges, Harlaxton
Police have charged a man and a teenage boy after the alleged robbery of two people in a house at Harlaxton yesterday.
It will be alleged at 11pm the 68-year-old woman and 83-year-old man were at their Goombungee Road house when two males entered and threatened the woman with a small knife. The males then searched the house removing a few personal items.
The males stole keys for a Proton sedan and drove the car down the driveway however the car became bogged in a paddock across the road and they fled on foot.
It will be alleged on Saturday morning police were conducting further inquires in Goombungee Road when they located two people matching the descriptions of the males and subsequently located some of the stolen property.
A 32-year-old Wilsonton Heights man has been charged with three counts of enter dwelling with intent, two counts of robbery in company and one count each
Serious traffic, Gordonvale
Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating a single vehicle crash at Gordonvale today.
Initial investigations indicate about 12.20pm a car was travelling on George Street when it left the road and hit a tree.
The driver, a 66-year-old local man, was transported to Cairns Hospital in a critical condition.
The sole passenger, a 36-year-old Cairns man, was also transport with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigations are continuing.
Fatal traffic crash, Surat
Forensic Crash Unit officers continue to investigate after a teenage boy died from injuries sustained in a traffic crash last Sunday, August 19.
Around 5.40pm a vehicle was travelling south on the Carnarvon Highway about 55kms south of Surat when the car has left the road and rolled.
A 14-year-old Toowoomba boy, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to the Lady Cilento Hospital but died in the early hours of this morning, August 26.
Investigations are continuing.
Human remains located, Hervey Range
A crime scene has been established following the discovery of skeletal remains in bushland at Hervey Range yesterday.
Police were notified by a member of the public hunting near Hervey Range Road around 4.30pm and are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
Officers guarded the scene overnight with detectives and scientific officers in attendance to continue investigations.
The remains are today undergoing forensic testing to ascertain the identity of the deceased.

Burglary and serious assault charges, Rosslea
Police have charged a woman following an alleged burglary and assault incident at Rosslea (Townsville) yesterday morning.
It is alleged at about 3.10am on August 25, a woman knocked on the door of a unit on Bowen Road awakening the elderly male occupant.
After a conversation between the two, it is further alleged the woman pushed open the door and assaulted the man.
It is alleged the woman fled the scene a short time later on foot with a quantity of cash taken from unit.
The man received minor injuries only.
At about 8.35am this morning, police located and arrested a 40-year-old woman from North Ward in relation to this matter.
The woman is charged with one count each of burglary and commit indictable offence, serious assault, trespass and evade fare. The woman is also charged with two counts of begging for money in a public place.
She is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court
Marine search and rescue, Hervey Bay
A man is recovering after being rescued from waters off Hervey Bay this morning when his boat struck a whale.
Shortly before 3am, the sole occupant of the eight-metre vessel activated an EPIRB as the boat was sinking between Hervey Bay and Fraser Island.
Resources involved in the search included a rescue helicopter, Water Police and VMR.
The man was located floating in the water by the rescue helicopter around 4.30am and rescued by crew from the Water Police Vessel S.W. Gill just after 5am.
He was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital with only minor injuries.

Fatal traffic crash, Feluga
Police are investigating a two vehicle, fatal traffic crash which occurred north of Tully overnight.
Just after midnight, a truck carrying sugar cane and a sedan collided on the Bruce Highway at Feluga and ignited.
The drivers of both vehicles were declared deceased at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash and is urging any witnesses in the area at the time to please contact them.
Both lanes of the highway remain closed and diversions through Mission Beach are expected to be in place until approximately midday.

Break and enter, Lowood
Lowood police are investigating a break and enters which occurred on August 22 and have released images of two men who may be able to assist in their investigations.
Just before 9pm, a silver utility attended a petrol station at Fernvale where the vehicle left before the occupants had paid for fuel.
At around 9.30pm, the same vehicle containing two men drove into the carpark of a convenience store on Main Street at Lowood.
The duo then forced entry to the locked store through the front doors before stealing a large quantity of tobacco products and several charity boxes.
The men made several trips back to their vehicle with the goods, before leaving in the utility and heading North along Main Street.
Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the men pictured in the CCTV images attached.

Man arrested for armed robbery offences, South Brisbane.
A man has been arrested following a police operation in Calamvale this morning.
Around 8.50am specialist police attended a Gowan Road address where the man was taken into custody without incident.
The man was wanted for questioning in relation to armed robbery offences that occurred earlier in the year.
A 38-year-old man is assisting police with inquiries relating to armed robbery offences in July at Calamvale and Sunnybank Hills in March.
Investigations are continuing.
