Update: Homicide investigation, Wilsonton

Detectives have charged nine people following the death of a 37-year-old woman in Wilsonton yesterday.
It will be alleged at 2.10pm, a woman was located with serious injuries at an address in McGregor Street.
She was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital however was later pronounced deceased.
The following people have each been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of enter dwelling with intent:
• A 32-year-old man from Wilsonton Heights
• A 28-year-old woman from Newtown
• A 29-year-old woman from South Toowoomba
• A 25-year-old man from Wilsonton Heights
• A 34-year-old woman from Harlaxton
• A 29-year-old woman from Roma
• A 29-year-old woman from Kearneys Springs
• A 23-year-old man from Toowoomba
• A 25-year-old woman from Stuart
All of the nine people charged are scheduled to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.

Violent robbery, Narangba

Police are investigating a violent robbery incident that occurred at Narangba yesterday morning.
At about 10.20am, a 15-year-old boy walking along Oakey Flat Road near the intersection with Windemere Avenue was approached by two males and seriously assaulted.
The boy was kicked to the head and knocked unconscious, receiving head injuries and a suspected broken jaw.
The males stole the boy’s shoes prior to fleeing the scene.
The boy was transported to Lady Cilento Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Police are appealing to any members of the public who witnessed the incident or who are able to identify two male persons (pictured) who police believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

Alpacas shot and killed – Glen Aplin

In an act that local police are calling heartless, six alpacas were shot and killed at a rural Glen Aplin property last week.
Police were called to the Mount Stirling Road property yesterday (Saturday, May 5) when the animal’s owner found five of his alpacas dead and one critically injured in their paddock.
Unfortunately, the injured animal had to be euthanised and an examination by a local veterinarian indicated that the animals had been shot with a small calibre firearm sometime between Wednesday, May 2 and Thursday, May, 3.
Senior Constable Jim Ellis, Stanthorpe Police said the animals would have been defenceless and it was hard to comprehend the senseless violence.
“Disturbingly this is the second incident of shooting deaths involving alpacas on rural properties with seven killed at Lyra last September.

Fatal traffic crash, Bargara

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at Bargara early this morning.
Initial inquiries indicate that just before 1.40am, a vehicle travelling west on Bargara Road when it struck a man.
The 18-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other people were injured during the incident.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Serious traffic crash, Chambers Flat

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash that occurred at Chambers Flat yesterday evening.
Initial investigations indicate at about 11.40pm, a vehicle travelling north on Chambers Flat Road has left the road and rolled.
The 27-year-old female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was thrown from the car as a result of the crash.
The woman was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Armed robbery, Tarampa

Police are investigating an armed robbery incident that occurred at Tarampa this afternoon.
At about 5.30pm, a man entered a service station on Lowood Minden Road, stated he was armed with a knife and demanded money.
The male staff member complied and the man left the store with a sum of cash.
No one was injured during the incident.
Investigations are continuing.

Armed robbery charge, North Ipswich

Police have charged a 36-year-old West Ipswich man following an armed robbery incident in North Ipswich this afternoon.
At about 5pm, it is alleged the man approached another man at a shopping centre in Downs Street whilst armed with a knife.
It is further alleged the armed man threatened the man with the knife and demanded he hand over his property which he did so.
The man fled the scene on foot however was located by police a short time later.
No injuries to any person.
The 36-year-old man is charged with one count each of armed robbery, assault and threatening violence.
He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on May 7.

Serious traffic crash, Warner

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash that occurred at Warner this afternoon.
At about 5.08pm, a vehicle travelling north on Old North Road has attempted to turn right into Stanley Street and collided with a motorcycle heading south on Old North Road.
The 31-year-old motorcycle rider from Warner was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious injuries.
Police are appealing to any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have dash cam footage of the crash to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.

House fire, Hope Island

Police are investigating following a house fire in Hope Island tonight.
Emergency services were called to an address on Crescent Avenue around 7.14pm where a residence was located well alight.
The property was destroyed as result of the blaze.
A man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with to burns to his legs, arms and torso.
