Previous information: The Queensland Police Service is seeking urgent public assistance to help locate a one-year-old boy who was taken from a Raceview address six hours ago who may be at significant risk.
A man was seen pulling the boy from his mother’s arms and is believed to have put him in a car.
The car is described as being a black, 2012 Great Wall with registration 617ZCU and was last seen heading south.

Skeletal remains located, Mackay

Police are investigating after skeletal remains were found in Mackay yesterday afternoon (January 17).
The bones were located by a passer-by slightly submerged in the Pioneer River near Barnes Creek Road Park around 3pm.
Forensic testing will be carried out to confirm whether the bones are human remains.
Officers will guard the scene overnight and further investigations will be conducted at first light tomorrow.

Break and enter with violence, Coorparoo

Police are investigating a violent break and enter offence involving the theft of two vehicles that occurred at Coorparoo early this morning.
At about 12am, three men armed with knives and an iron bar entered an address in Buena Vista Avenue and assaulted a 43-year-old man.
The three men fled the scene with a quantity of cash and property including two sets of car keys and a credit card.
The men attended a nearby automatic teller machine and withdraw a quantity of cash from the man’s bank account before returning to the Buena Vista address and stealing a white 2016 Mazda CX-9, Queensland registration 079WSH and a grey 2015 Mazda 6, Queensland registration 193WFH.
The man was treated at the scene for a minor back injury.
Investigators are appealing to any members of the public who where travelling in the area between midnight and 1pm who may have relevant dash cam footage to contact police.

Armed robbery charges, Murarrie and Cooparoo

Police have charged a man with the armed robbery of a Murarrie service station on January 7 and the attempted robbery of a man at Cooparoo overnight.
It will be alleged that a man armed with a knife entered a Wynnum Road, Murarrie service station around 9.55pm on the 7th threatening a 37-yeear-old male employee before fleeing on foot with a sum of cash.
Police will allege a man armed with a knife attended the Coorparoo Railway Station last night (January 15) where he threatened a 21-year-old male employee, forcing him into an office area demanding cash.
When no cash could be provided it will be further alleged the man forced the employee to change clothes with him before he called police at around 9.10pm regarding a man acting suspiciously.
Police attended and were quickly advised by the victim that the offender was now wearing his uniform.
The man was arrested without incident.

Assault and robbery charges, Bracken Ridge

Police have arrested and charged a man following the alleged assault of a man during an attempted robbery at a Bracken Ridge service station overnight.
It will be alleged a man entered the Telegraph Road business around 00.35am this morning (January 16) and demanded money before climbing over the counter and assaulting a 23-year-old male employee.
Police will allege the employee was punched several times to the head before being knocked to the ground, where a violent struggle took place, with the man being kicked several times before he managed to break free and run from the store.
The offender fled empty handed.
Shortly after 3am the man contacted police and handed himself in.
A 21-year-old Bracken Ridge man has been charged with attempted armed robbery using actual violence, enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.
He has been denied police bail and is due to appear

Armed robbery, Parkwood

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Parkwood convenience store this morning.
Preliminary information indicates that shortly after 8.30am, two masked people – believed to be a man and woman – attended the Zoeller Drive business, produced a sharp implement and demanded cash.
The attendant complied and the pair fled with a sum of money to a waiting white 2012 Toyota Camry sedan, bearing Queensland registration plates “564 SRQ”.
A woman was driving the vehicle and the three people were last seen exiting a nearby car park.
No one was injured during the incident.
The Toyota Camry had been stolen from an address at Queens Road, Kingston, sometime between 8.00pm on Tuesday January 14 and 6.30am (today) Wednesday January 15.
Investigations continue.

Fatal traffic crash, Bluewater

A person has died following a two-vehicle crash at Bluewater today (January 15).
Initial investigations indicate around 4:30am a B-double truck and a sedan collided on the Bruce Highway.
The sole occupant of the sedan was declared deceased at the scene.
The identity of deceased has not been confirmed at this stage.
The male driver of the B-double was uninjured.
The Bruce Highway remains closed currently and the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
Anyone who may have witnessed, stopped or left the scene prior to police or emergency services arriving, as well as anyone who has relevant dashcam vision are asked to contact police.

Appeal for witnesses/dashcam footage: Serious traffic crash, Greenslopes

Police investigating a serious crash on the Pacific Motorway in Greenslopes today are appealing for dashcam footage.
At about 11.15am a silver Ford Focus bearing Queensland registration 131 ZCM has allegedly lost control whilst travelling northbound on the Pacific Motorway near Marshall Road.
The car struck a guard rail on the left-hand side shoulder causing the car to spin.
The driver of the car a 58-year-old Nerang man didn’t suffer any injuries.
The back passenger a 24-year-old Chermside woman suffered serious spinal injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Police are appealing for anyone that may have witnessed the car prior to the accident or has dashcam footage to contact police.
Investigations continue.

Serious traffic crash, Logan Reserve

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash at Logan Reserve yesterday evening, which resulted in a man suffering critical injuries.
Preliminary information indicates that around 5.50pm, a 23-year-old Slacks Creek man was driving north along Chambers Flat Road when he lost control of his vehicle, veered across the centre median strip and onto the incorrect side of the road.
The man’s car rolled several times causing him to be ejected from the vehicle.
He suffered critical head and internal injuries.
Paramedics transported the man to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
