Stolen prime mover Jimboomba
Police are appealing for public assistance in relation to a prime mover semi-trailer which was stolen from Jimboomba last weekend.
Between 7pm on December 27 and 7.50am on December 28 the distinctive blue prime mover with a light-coloured trailer was stolen from a service station on Tamborine Street. The vehicle had been securely parked at that location.
The last sighting of the vehicle was heading northbound on the Mount Lindesay Highway at Jimboomba.
The prime mover has a Queensland registration of 561 RBM and the trailer has a Queensland registration of 263 QUP.

Armed robbery, North Rockhampton
Rockhampton detectives are investigating the overnight armed robbery of a North Rockhampton convenience store.
Around 9.50pm (December 30) two men attended the Main Street business armed with knives, threatening a male employee before fleeing with a sum of cash.
No one was physically injured and police investigations are continuing.
Both men had their faces covered and were wearing light coloured hooded jackets.

Suspicious behaviour, Peregian Springs
Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man seen acting suspiciously near bushland at Peregian Springs on the Sunshine Coast today.
The man was seen near a fire trail between the Avenue Park Duck Pond and Doonan Bridge Road East around midday.
He was described as being aged in his 30s, around 170cm tall with a medium build.
The man was wearing a navy t-shirt with a yellow logo on it, dark green long pants and a green baseball cap.
He was last seen walking along Doonan Bridge Road East.
Anyone who may have seen the man in the area or could assist with identifying him is urged to come forward.

Armed robberies, Mudgeeraba and Broadbeach
Police are investigating two overnight linked armed robberies in Mudgeeraba and Broadbeach in which a car and handbag were stolen.
Around 11.45pm (December 29) a 65-year-old local woman drove into the garage of a house in Glenny Drive, Mudgeeraba when a man armed with a hammer approached her vehicle demanding she open the car door.
The woman refused and immediately reversed out of the garage and drove to a family member’s home in nearby Clover Hill Drive.
The armed man followed her this address in a small red sedan where he then stole a black 2014 Audi A3 sedan with Queensland registration 767-VOS, which had been parked in the driveway.
Both vehicles then sped away from the scene.
The 65-year-old woman was not physically injured.

Public nuisance, Maroochydore
Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance to arrest a man at Picnic Point yesterday.
Just before 7pm, officers were called to a man allegedly creating a nuisance by throwing rocks and yelling at other members of the public.
When approached, the 54-year-old man allegedly jumped in the Maroochy River to evade police. Fearing for the man’s safety, officers followed the man into the water.
Members of the community offered assistance by providing transport for the officers on jet-skis and a boat. A group of kayakers also pitched in to lend a hand.
During the pursuit through the river, a Taser, portable radio and mobile phone was damaged.
The Nambour man was taken into police custody after almost an hour and charged with one count each of committing public nuisance and obstructing police.
He was granted police bail to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 15.

Appeal for witnesses – Marsden traffic crash
Logan Police investigating a single vehicle crash at Marsden on Thursday, December 19 are appealing for witnesses.
Specifically- police would like to speak with a woman who was waiting at a Coolmunda Street bus stop with her two children and who witnessed the crash.
As well as the female driver of an early model blue Holden Commodore, with police believing she may have seen the Ford shortly before the crash.
Around 10.35am on December 19 a 2006 Green Ford Falcon sedan travelled from Second Avenue and into Coolmunda Street where the vehicle lost control, mounting the kerb before crashing through a front fence and then into the carport of a house in Coolmunda Street.
Here the vehicle crashed into a parked blue Mitsubishi Triton ute, pushing it into the neighbouring fence.
No-one was injured as a result of the crash, including the driver of the Ford, a 24-year-old local man.

Serious assault, North Booval
Police have charged a 17-year-old boy after a teenager sustained a serious stab wound outside a unit complex in North Booval last night.
It will be alleged around 11.30pm the boy forced an 18-year-old man out of a vehicle on Gledson Street before stabbing him in the abdomen with a broken glass bottle.
A struggle ensued between the two teenagers, when the 17-year-old fell onto broken glass on the drive way.
The 18-year-old man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The 17-year-old, who was believed to be known to the victim, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
He has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Fatal crash, Townsville
A 16-year-old boy has died following a skateboard crash at Townsville this afternoon.
At 2:30pm, police responded to parklands off Isley Street to find a boy had come off his skateboard and in a critical condition. Police and paramedics rendered first aid before the boy sadly died a short time later.
Early investigations suggest the boy was travelling down a hill and attempted to slow down prior to crashing into a pole.
Further investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.

Water police to share safety tidings
Water Police from across Queensland will ride the waves together this holiday season to ensure safety on the waterways.
The combined operation is designed to deliver key safety messages to vessel masters, including personal watercraft riders, to ensure they are aware of their obligations not only to their passengers but other users of the waterways.
Acting Senior Sergeant Damian Hayes said that enforcement patrols will be conducted along all creeks, rivers and anchorages from Caloundra to the Southern Bay Islands.
“Vessel masters should expect to be stopped by police for compliance checks of their license, registration and on-board safety equipment,” Acting Senior Sergeant Hayes said.
“The waterways are busy at this time of the year and all masters, including personal watercraft riders, should be aware of their obligations before they set out.
“Water police are there to ensure that everyone has a splashing good time on the waterways, safely.”
