Police officer stood down, People Capability Command

A 46-year-old male senior constable from People Capability Command has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and has been tasked to perform non-operational duties.
The officer is subject of an investigation regarding domestic violence whilst off duty.
In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.
This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.

Arson charge – Stanwell

Police have charged a woman with arson following investigations into an alleged deliberately lit house fire which occurred on May 30 this year.
At around 1.45am, emergency services were called to the Sackville Street address following reports the house was engulfed in flames.
The property was extensively damaged during the blaze.
Investigations have led police to charge a 48-year-old Beachmere woman with arson and attempted fraud.
She will appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 20.

Robbery, Calamvale

Police are searching for two people and a vehicle involved in a violent robbery at Calamvale this morning.
Just before 7:30am, two occupants entered a yard on Nabeel Street and kicked through a door that led to a garage.
The resident, a 45-year-old man, confronted the pair and was assaulted with a shovel.
One person threatened him, while the other entered the house and stole property.
The pair stole his 2012 Volkswagen Golf and left the address with another vehicle believed to be linked to the pair.
The 45-year-old man suffered minor injuries and the Volkswagen was last seen in the Forest Lake area a short time later.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have seen the cars involved, is urged to contact police.

Armed robbery – Pacific Pines

Police are searching for a man who used a knife to rob at newsagency at Pacific Pines this morning.
Around 7.20am a man wearing a motorbike helmet and armed with a knife entered a newsagency at Hotham Drive at Pacific Pines and demanded money from the till.
An undisclosed amount of money was obtained from the till before the man left the store and got onto a motorbike and left the scene.
There were no customers in the store at time.
No one physically injured during the incident.
The man is described as wearing a navy blue helmet, a navy blue hoodie, black jeans and had a black back pack.

Shots fired, Marcoola

Detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a car involved in a shooting at Marcoola last night.
Around 11:45pm on Tuesday, December 10, a car carrying three people was travelling along David Low Way.
As it approached the Airport Drive intersection, a light grey Holden Commodore drove up alongside it and presented a gun through the driver’s side window.
The car accelerated, and a single shot was fired from the Holden Commodore into the rear of the car.
The Holden Commodore sped off along David Low Way towards the roundabout with Pacific Paradise.
The three occupants of the car, a man and two women, were not physically injured.
The driver of the Holden Commodore is described as a Caucasian man with a dark tan. He has short dark hair and a light beard.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information on the car involved, is urged to come forward to police. Details below.

Homicide investigation, Raceview

Ipswich detectives, with the assistance of the Homicide Investigation Group, are investing after the body of woman was located at a Raceview property yesterday afternoon.
Police attended a McGill Street address around 5.20pm on December 10 where the body of a 31-year-old Raceview woman was located in a vehicle.
A crime scene has been established as police investigations continue.
A 36-year-old Raceview man was arrested late last night at the address and is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
The man and woman are known to each other.
Anyone who may have noticed any suspicious behaviour in the area, or has any information which could assist with investigation, is urged to contact police.

Wounding, Labrador

Police have charged 30-year-old man after another man was stabbed at a Labrador unit this morning.
Around 5am, police were called to Bright Avenue in relation to a street disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers located a 41-year-old Red Hill man on the street, suffering a stab wound to his chest.
The man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
A 30-year-old Labrador man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and will appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police Liaison Officer suspended, Community Contact Command

A Police Liaison Officer of the Community Contact Command has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service.
The officer is the subject of allegations of possessing liquor in a restricted area and is scheduled to appear in the Aurukun Magistrates Court on December 11.

Update: Armed robbery, Coochin Creek

Police have charged a man following an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant at Coochin Creek last Thursday, December 5.
The man allegedly entered the restaurant armed with a knife and baton and demanded money of staff members.
A 35-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery and will appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
