Shooting incident, North Booval

Police are investigating after a man received a gunshot wound to his arm in North Booval last night.
Around 10pm, emergency services responded to reports a man had been shot in the front yard of an address in Oxford Street.
Preliminary investigations indicate, two shots were fired from a passing car, and one of the shots hit a man in the arm.
He was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.

Shots fired, Tara

Detectives are investigating two incidents where shots were fired into houses at Tara last night, November 30.
Just before 10pm, a single shot was fired into a window of a house on Day Street. Three people were in the house at the time, however they were not physically injured.
It is believed that the shot was fired from a vehicle which sped off towards Surat Developmental Road.
In another incident just after 11pm, two shots were fired into a house on Naughtin Street. No one was home at the time.
A car was seen driving away from the scene along Binnie Street in a westerly direction.
The same car is believed to have been used in both incidents. It is described as being a sedan with an engine that sounds high-powered.
Investigators believe the incidents are linked and are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to come forward.

Pursuit, Gold Coast

Two boys aged 12 and 15 have been charged after an alleged stolen vehicle was driven at speed through the Gold Coast overnight before crashing into a police car at Tugun.
It will be alleged on November 29, a white Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen during the burglary of a home on Catalina Court at Mermaid Waters.
The vehicle was then observed around 11.50 last night (November 30) by POLAIR travelling erratically along Bermuda Street in Burleigh Waters.
Police activated lights and sirens and attempted to intercept the Jeep, however it failed to stop.
POLAIR continued to track the stolen car until a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed as it travelled along the Pacific Highway.
Officers pursued the stung vehicle until it eventually collided with a police car at Tugun, coming to stop.
Two boys were taken into custody at the scene. No one sustained serious injury as a result of the crash.

Fatal traffic crash, Black River

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Black River, west of Townsville last night.
Preliminary investigations indicate, around 8.40pm two cars collided on the Bruce Highway just south of Black River Bridge.
A 20-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, both sole occupants of their vehicles, were declared deceased at the scene.
Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Fatal traffic crash, Mirani

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Mirani, west of Mackay last night.
Preliminary investigations indicate, around 7.35pm a truck and car travelling west on Mackay Eungella Road collided and the car caught fire.
The three occupants escaped from the car. A 12-year-old girl suffered critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. The female driver and nine-year-old boy were transported to Mackay Hospital with minor injuries.
The truck driver was not physically injured.

Update 1: Serious assault, Broadbeach

Gold Coast detectives investigating a fight early this morning in which a 21-year-old NSW man sustained critical head injuries have charged two men with affray.
Police have interviewed a large number of witnesses and those involved in the disturbance, with detectives appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the fight, or have any relevant information, to contact them.
Two 19-year-old NSW men have been denied police bail and are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday, December 2.
Investigations by Gold Coast CIB are continuing.

Serious assault, Broadbeach

Police are investigating after a man sustained a critical head injury during an altercation in Broadbeach last night.
Initial information suggests a 21-year-old man was walking along Surf Parade this morning when he became involved in a verbal exchange with a group of men and women around 2.40am.
The group allegedly continued to follow the man before an altercation occurred and the 21-year-old was punched, causing him to fall and hit his head.
He was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police established a crime scene at the corner of Margaret Avenue and Surf Parade and a number of people are currently assisting with inquiries.
Investigations are continuing.

Traffic crash, Broadbeach Waters

Police are investigating a traffic crash in Broadbeach Waters last night.
Just before 7pm, a motorcycle evaded police. A short time later, police attended a traffic crash at the intersection of Rio Vista and Hooker Boulevards, where the motorcycle and a car had collided.
The rider was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the car was not physically injured.

Serious single vehicle traffic crash, Burbank

Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred today (November 29) on Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road, Burbank.
Preliminary investigations indicate that around 1:30pm a Mazda Tribute SVU station wagon gold in colour,  was travelling northbound in the left-hand lane on Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road, Burbank.
The vehicle was merging into the right lane but has then swerved back into the left lane and lost control and rolled over into the oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes.
A 23-year-old male front passenger sustained severe injuries as a result.
The 22-year-old female driver and a 22-year-old male rear passenger suffered severe shock and minor injury.
Investigators from the FCU are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information or dashcam to contact them.
Investigations are continuing.

PSPA revoked, Caloundra

Police have revoked an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) following reports of an armed man in Caloundra.
The PSPA was revoked at 12.20pm.
A man has been taken into custody without incident.
