Police officer stand down, Brisbane Region

A 45-year-old male Senior Constable from Brisbane Region has been suspended from official duty with the Queensland Police Service.
The officer is subject to allegations of computer hacking and engaging in inappropriate behaviour.
In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.  This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.

Serious traffic crash, Gordonvale

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash at Gordonvale yesterday.
Around 4.30pm, an SUV was travelling northbound on the Bruce Highway at the Mulgrave River Bridge when it collided with a medium rigid truck travelling southbound.
The driver of the SUV, a 48-year-old woman from Brinsmead, was flown to Townsville with critical injuries. The two passengers, boys aged 11 and 13 were flown to Cairns Hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.
The truck driver, a 54-year-old man from Flying Fish Point, was transported to Cairns with serious leg and internal injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
Anyone in the area with dash cam footage is urged to contact police.

Dangerous operation of a vehicle, Southport

A man is in custody following an alleged dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and evading police at the Gold Coast last night.
Around 7.30pm, a white Holden Commodore evaded police southbound on the M1 at Stapylton. The vehicle was then observed and tracked by PolAir 1 as it drove to Surfers Paradise.
The vehicle travelled north on the Gold Coast Highway to Southport and was successfully stung with a tyre deflation device.
The driver travelled through a red traffic light and struck a car containing two people.
He then drove into a park and was taken into custody by police.
QAS attended and the driver of the Commodore and both people from the second vehicle were transported to the Gold Coast Hospital for observation.
Anyone who may have dash cam of the incident is urged to contact police. Investigations are continuing.

Search for escapee, Townsville

Police are seeking public assistance to locate a 23-year-old man who escaped from a prison farm in Townsville last night.
Bodhi Johnson was last seen around 8.50pm wearing prison green clothing.
Police are conducting searches and carrying out enquiries. These investigations remain on-going.
Johnson is described as Caucasian, approximately 173cm tall and 53kg, with a slim build, fair complexion, blue eyes and brown hair.
He has a number of tattoos including RIP Mum 30/03/59 – 05/09/2013 on his left inner forearm, a Kiwi fern with the word family on his inner right arm. He has Only God can judge me tattooed on his chest, hands holding a pistol on his lower left ribs and love tattooed across his left hand.
He also has a circular scar on his left ankle and a 20cm scar below his right knee.
Anyone who has any information in relation to his current whereabouts is urged to contact police.

Grievous bodily harm, Lockhart River

Police have charged a man with grievous bodily harm following an incident at Lockhart River in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Around 1am, two men were part of a gathering on Keeni Street when an argument broke out.
It will be alleged one of the men punched another man causing him to fall, hitting his head on the gutter and losing consciousness.
The 28-year-old victim was treated by paramedics at the scene before being flown to Townsville Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
A 25-year-old man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm whilst adversely affected in a public place.
He will appear in Cairns Magistrates Court via video link tomorrow morning.

Fatal traffic crash, Lower Tenthill

Police are investigating after a man died in a single vehicle crash at Lower Tenthill near Gatton yesterday afternoon.
Preliminary information suggests a Honda CR-V was travelling along Gatton Clifton Road around 4.45pm when it lost control and crashed in a dry creek bed.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 20-year-old Toowong man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.

Fatal traffic crash, Southbrook

Police are appealing for witnesses after a single vehicle fatal traffic crash West of Toowoomba overnight.
Preliminary inquiries indicate a Toyota Hilux was travelling east on Jimna Springs Road when the driver has lost control. The vehicle has left the road and rolled several times before coming to rest on its roof.
The driver and sole occupant, an 18-year-old local man, died at the scene.
Investigators from the Toowoomba Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for anyone who saw the vehicle on Jimna Springs Road prior to or after the crash to contact police.

Armed robbery, Durack

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a delivery driver in Durack overnight.
Around 8.15pm, an order was place with a fast food outlet to be delivered to Glengallan Place.
When the delivery driver arrived, a man approached her car. While driver got the food, two other men who were armed approached the car. The first man produced a weapon and the three men demanded money.
The driver stated she had no money to give them as she only had change for the order.
The three men took the food and fled along a nearby path towards Blunder Road.
The delivery driver was not physically harmed during the incident.
The three men are all described as tall with a slim build and aged in their late teens.
Investigators are urging anyone in the area with CCTV or dash cam footage to contact police.

Update 2: Injury to 15-year-old boy, Bundall

A 15-year-old boy injured after allegedly falling from the back of a ute in Bundall yesterday morning has passed away as a result of his injuries.
Emergency services were called to Larne Avenue around 1am where they located the boy with a significant head injury.
He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment where he has since died.
Detectives have charged a 16-year-old Bundall boy who they allege was driving a ute when the 15-year-old fell from the rear tray and struck his head.
He was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and unlicensed driving. The charge is now expected to be upgraded at the boy’s court appearance.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Armed man charged with wounding, Eagleby

Police have charged a man following an incident at a petrol station in Eagleby overnight.
It will be alleged, police arrived at a Riverhills Road petrol station to find a man armed with two knives involved in an altercation with two other men.
The officers drew service firearms and gave verbal commands which all three men complied with.
One of the men had a non-life threatening cut above his eye and was transported to hospital.
A 26-year-old Beenleigh man was charged with wounding and is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.
