Burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle – Nathan

Police are investigating the theft of four cars from a vehicle storage centre in Nathan yesterday.
It will be alleged, between 11.30am and 1pm, four cars were stolen from a car dealership vehicle storage centre on Fairlawn Street.
Four youths are assisting police with the investigation.

Update: Injury to 15-year-old boy, Bundall

Detectives from the Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a teenage boy following an incident in Bundall early this morning where a 15-year-old boy sustained a critical head injury.
At 1am, emergency services were called to Larne Avenue where they located the injured boy who had been with a group of teenagers.
He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment where he remains in a critical condition.
Detectives have since arrested a 16-year-old Bundall boy who they allege was driving a Ute when the 15-year-old fell from the rear tray and struck his head.
He has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and unlicensed driving.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Fatal traffic crash, Image Flat

Police are investigating after a man died in a single vehicle crash at Image Flat on the Sunshine Coast this morning.
Preliminary information suggests a Hyundai Elantra was travelling along Image Flat Road around 11am when it lost control and collided with a power pole.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 48-year-old Nambour man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Appeal – Injury to 15-year-old boy, Bundall

Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate the circumstances prior to a 15-year-old boy sustaining a serious injury in Bundall this morning.
At 1.00am, emergency services were called to Larne Avenue where they located the boy with a significant head injury.
He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment where he remains in a critical condition.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area and who may have dashcam or CCTV of the area to contact investigators.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Serious traffic crash involving stolen car, Underwood

Two men have been injured after an alleged stolen vehicle crashed at high speed in Underwood last night.
Preliminary investigations indicate just after 11pm, POLAIR observed a Mitsubishi Lancer which had been stolen on October 4 from Woolloongabba, travelling through the Logan area.
The vehicle was seen allegedly driving at excessive speeds northbound on the Gateway Motorway.
At around 11.25pm the car crashed into another vehicle on the Pacific Motorway near the Underwood Road overpass before two men allegedly fled the scene.
They were taken into custody soon after by a passing motorcycle officer.
Police attended the scene and blocked the northbound lanes of the highway. The driver and the 25-year-old male passenger were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a 35-year-old man from Deception Bay, was released from hospital and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.

Dangerous operation and drug driving charges, Sunshine Coast

An alleged drug driver has been charged after the stolen vehicle he was travelling was tracked by police through the Sunshine Coast overnight.
It will be alleged a Toyota Camry stolen from Chermside on September 29 was observed by PolAir 2 heading along Old Gympie Road at Narangba around 9.40pm.
The car was tracked as it continued to allegedly travel dangerously at high speed along the Bruce Highway through Beerwah.
At 10.30pm a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on Steve Irwin Way in Landsborough. The car continued to travel on its rims causing a number of other motorists to take evasive action before eventually stopping a short distance away, crashing into a sign.
The male driver allegedly fled the scene and was tracked by PolAir and Dog Squad to Mooloolah Cemetery where he was taken into custody with a controlled bite by the pursuing Police Dog.

Serious traffic crash, Lockhart River

Police are investigating a single vehicle crash at Lockhart River yesterday afternoon which has left a teenage boy in a critical condition and five other children with injuries.
Preliminary investigations suggest a Ford station wagon lost control as it travelled at speed along Kuttini Street and rolled around 4.40pm.
The alleged driver of the vehicle, a 14-year-old Mount Sheridan boy, sustained serious head injuries as a result of the crash and was airlifted to Townsville Hospital.
Two male passengers aged 13 and 14 were transported to Cairns Hospital with minor injuries.
Two 16-year-old female passengers and another 14-year-old boy were not seriously injured and received treatment in Lockhart River.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Protest arrests, Bowen

Two women have been charged for alleged protest activity at a port facility near Bowen this morning.
Around 5.30am, police were advised of approximately twenty protesters at the scene and officers from Bowen attended.
Upon arrival, officers located two women who had allegedly locked themselves to a 200-litre drum of reinforced concrete.
As a result, a male officer was using a cutting tool to remove it when he sustained a minor cut to his left elbow.
The constable received first aid at the scene and returned to duty.
The two women were taken into custody and the remaining members of the group left without incident.
Both women, a 56-year-old from Highgate Hill and 22-year-old from Moorooka, have been charged with trespass on a railway, obstructing a railway and contravene a direction.
They are scheduled to appear in Bowen Magistrates Court on November 12.

CONVO2019  presents an opportunity to work with the government to co-create a campaign using your valuable insight and your ideas.
This opportunity will provide more than 100 Queenslanders aged 12 to 25-years-old with the chance to assist the Queensland Government in designing a campaign to put an end to cyber bullying.
A recommendation from the Queensland Anti-Cyberbullying Taskforce report, Adjust our Settings: A community approach to address cyberbullying among children and young people in Queensland was to co-create a campaign with a diverse group of young Queenslanders.
The event day will be held on Monday, October 21 at the Queensland State Netball Centre.

Burglary, Rockhampton

Detectives are investigating the burglary of service station in Rockhampton overnight.
Around 11.51pm a dark coloured sedan was reversed through the locked front glass doors of the Gladstone Road business causing extensive damage.
Once inside, the driver stole packets of cigarettes before driving off.
The sedan is described as having a distinctive paint pattern down the side panels, which might be a camouflage pattern or a mix of different paints.
The driver, a man, is described as wearing long dark pants, dark long-sleeve shirt, white bandana around the face, and a dark coloured hat, carrying a white bag, and possibly with a white bandana covering their face.
Investigations continue.
