Update 2: House fire, Lakes Creek

Police have charged a 39-year-old man following a house fire at Lakes Creek in August where a man died.
Emergency services were called to the house fire in the morning of August 15 at Hill Street where the body of a 47-year-old male was discovered.
Around 6pm last night a man, who was known to the deceased, handed himself into Brisbane City Police Station.
A 39-year-old Rockhampton man has been charged with one count each of murder and arson..
He will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, September 16.

Operation Romeo Monument, charges

A total of seven search warrants were executed across Miles and surrounding areas on September 11 and September 12 as part of an ongoing drug enforcement operation, Operation Romeo Monument.
These warrants were the result of a joint operation between the Miles and Chinchilla general officers, Roma Criminal investigation Branch and Roma rural Major Organised Crime Squad (MOCS).
In total, these seven warrants resulted in five people being charged with a total of thirteen offences.
The offences range from drug possession, including 19.6 grams of methamphetamine, 50 grams of cannabis, unlawful possession of weapons (firearm, butterfly knife and knuckle duster), unlawful possession of drug utensils and possession of explosives (ammunition).
During the search warrants $32,090 was seized.

Traffic crash, Ashmore

Police are investigating a hit and run car crash into a house at Ashmore overnight.
At 3.50am a Nissan Qashqai has lost control and driven into a house on Kallaroo Crescent.
The vehicle had false plates and the driver ran from the scene.
Police are appealing for the driver, or anyone with further information to contact police.
Police are also appealing for anyone with dashcam vision or CCTV of the vehicle prior to the crash to contact police.
The two residents of the house, who were asleep at the time, were not injured.
Investigations are continuing.

House fire, Rochedale

Police are investigating the cause of a house fire at Rochedale earlier tonight.
Just after 8pm, emergency services were called to a house fire on Aspire Street where the lower storey of the two-storey house was fully engulfed in fire.
The fire spread to the upper storey before it was controlled.
No one was home at the time.
Police have declared a crime scene while investigations continue.

Armed robbery, Waterford West

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a pizza store at Waterford West last night.
Shortly before 10pm three men have entered the Kingston Road store, armed with knives and made demands for money from the 18-year-old female employee.
An undisclosed amount of money was handed over from the till and the men fled the scene. As one of the men left he smashed a glass door on the way out.
One of the men is described as having tanned complexion, a strong New Zealand accent, approximately 180cm tall, slim build, wearing a green puffy jacket with white shirt underneath, black pants and black shoes.
He had brown eyes with his right eye having a distinctive brown spot.
The other man is described as also having a tanned complexion, wearing all black and approximately 170cm tall, slim build, with his face and hands also covered, wearing a black bandanna and big black sunglasses.

Fatal traffic crash, Landsborough

Police are investigating a fatal traffic incident that claimed the life of a 62-year-old man in Landborough this morning.
Preliminary information suggests a car was travelling along Steve Irwin Way and has collided with the rear of two cyclists travelling in the same direction.
A 62-year-old man from Sippy Downs, who was one of the cyclists was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The second cyclist, a 51 -year-old man from Alexandra Headland was as transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.
The 21-year-old driver of the car is assisting Forensic Crash Unit with their investigation.
Police are appealing for anyone that may have seen the crash or has dashcam footage to contact police.

Fatal marine incident, Shoalwater

Two men have died in a fatal marine incident north of Yeppon overnight.
Another boat discovered the vessel drifting near the mouth of Island Head Creek at Shoalwater around 11.30pm.
Water police attended, and preliminary inquiries indicate the boat has hit an object at speed and the two occupants have died as a result of the collision.
The two deceased men were located in the vessel and were the only people on-board.
The Sailfish 3000, a six metre aluminium catamaran, suffered significant damage to the front, below the water line.
Investigations are continuing.

Armed robbery, Browns Plains

Police have charged a 20-year-old man following an alleged armed robbery at Browns Plains yesterday afternoon.
Just after 3:30pm, the man allegedly approached a vehicle that was left unattended for a short period of time at a car wash centre.
Staff confronted the man who then allegedly produced a knife and threatened them. He then drove off in the vehicle.
Noone was physically injured.
The vehicle, fitted with a tracking device, was followed to an address in Browns Plains where he was taken into custody.
The 20-year-old Regents Park man was charged with one count of armed robbery.
He will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday, September 16.

Fatal traffic crash, Joyner

Police are investigating after a single vehicle crash claimed the life of a 19-year-old man in Joyner this afternoon.
Preliminary information suggests the Ford Falcon ute was travelling along Protheroe Road just before 1pm when it lost control and crashed into bushland near Forgan Road before catching fire.
A member of the public managed to extinguish the blaze.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Kallangur man, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Armed robbery, Clontarf

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store in Clontarf this afternoon.
At around 12:30pm a man entered the business on Maine Road, armed with a knife.
He demanded money from a staff member, who complied with the man’s demands.
No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.
Police are seeking assistance to identify the male offender and urge anyone with information to contact police.
