Detectives are investigating a suspicious house fire in Rockhampton early this morning.
Police were called to an address on Archer Street, near the intersection of Alma Street, at around 1:45am following reports of smoke coming from a home.
Emergency services attended the fire however the house received significant damage to the structure and roof.
The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
A crime scene has been declared with fire investigators and forensic officers expected to commence investigations today.
Anyone with CCTV or dash cam vision from the area last night is urged to contact police.

Car and pedestrian incident, Greenslopes
Police investigating a car and pedestrian incident in Greenslopes yesterday are appealing for public assistance.
At 6pm, a black Mazda 3 was travelling in the eastbound lanes of Cornwall Street near the intersection with Logan Road when it collided with a pedestrian who ran across the road.
The 31-year-old pedestrian was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with a serious head injury.
The 27-year-old male driver and the Mazda 3 left the scene before police arrived but both were located several hours later.
Officers are asking anyone who may witnessed the incident, or who may have dash cam footage or CCTV of the area at the time to please contact them.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.

Serious traffic crash, Stapylton
Police are investigating a serious traffic crash at Stapylton this afternoon, which resulted in a man suffering life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that around 12.30pm, a 25-year-old Ormeau man was driving a Toyota Hilux northbound along Eastern Service Road, when his vehicle crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a Suzuki Swift being driven by a 45-year-old Upper Coomera woman.
The Toyota Hilux then veered into a ditch and collided with a tree.
Emergency Services attended and transported the 25-year-old man to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, suffering significant limb, chest and internal injuries.
The female driver was uninjured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Update – Armed robbery, Newtown
A man has been charged following the alleged armed robbery of a hotel in Toowoomba yesterday morning.
It will be alleged around 3am on August 7 a man approached a 28-year-old employee at the business on Bridge Street, Newtown and advised him the toilets were broken.
The employee went to the bathrooms with the man who then allegedly produced a knife and demanded money from the till.
The pair then went to the cash register where the staff member handed over a sum of cash.
The man then fled the premises. No one was injured during the incident.
Ongoing investigations by police led to the arrest today of a 24-year-old Wilsonton Heights man.
He was charged with armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow (August 9).

Police officer dismissed, Southern Region
A 41-year-old senior constable from the Southern Region has been dismissed from the Queensland Police Service.
In January 2017, the officer was stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service.
The officer appeared in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court and entered a plea of guilty to a charge of common assault in July.
The officer was sentenced to a $1,500 12-month good behaviour bond and no conviction was recorded.
The officer was the subject of a subsequent disciplinary hearing in relation to misconduct involving excessive use of force and failing to treat others with respect and dignity.

Transformations in policing explored at sixth annual Future of Policing Symposium
Minister for Police and Minister for Corrective Services, the Honourable Mark Ryan MP, joined Commissioner Katarina Carroll in Brisbane yesterday to officially open the 2019 Future of Policing Symposium.
The Future of Policing Symposium (FOPS) is an invitation only event, hosted by the Queensland Police Service, Griffith Criminology Institute and Griffith University focussed on collaboration.
The theme of this year’s Symposium was Transforming Policing.
This theme ensured a focus on how police agencies can become more prevention, problem-solving and community focused.
Having run annually since 2014, this is the sixth year a variety of national and international presenters have been invited to join the discussion.
Commissioner Carroll said she was grateful for the longstanding partnership between Griffith Criminology Institute and the QPS which allowed for the collaborative opportunity between researchers and police leaders at annual FOPS events.

Update: Shots fired, Nambour
Police have charged a teenage boy following an incident at Nambour on Monday where a firearm was allegedly discharged into a residence.
It will be alleged a 16-year-old boy attended a Webster Road address on August 5 just before 2pm, produced a knife and threatened the occupants of the home.
The boy then allegedly made demands for the keys to a vehicle. He left a short time later, allegedly claiming he would come back with a firearm if the occupants did not comply.
It is further alleged the same boy came back to the home around 5.30pm armed with a knife and made further threats while attempting to force his way into the home. He left after being bitten by a dog at the residence.
At approximately 11pm that night police attended the address following reports a single shot had been fired into the house.

Robbery, South Toowoomba
Police are seeking public assistance to help locate two men in relation to a robbery in South Toowoomba on June 17.
Around 11.15pm, two 16-year-old boys were walking on Diagonal Street when two men approached them. They threatened the boys with a knife, demanding their backpacks and phone. The boys complied, and the men fled with the personal property.
The first man is described as 185cm tall, dark complexion, slim build with black gloves and wearing an orange beanie.
The second man is described as 185cm tall, dark complexion, slim build with a black moustache and cap.
The boys were not physically injured during the incident.
Police are yet to locate the men and detectives are appealing to the public to provide any information which may assist in the investigation.

Unlawful wounding, Cairns
A man is in a critical condition following a wounding overnight in Manoora.
Just after 1am police attended a Reservoir Road address and located a 45-year-old man with stab wounds to the abdomen and arm.
The man was transported to Cairns Base Hospital with life threatening injuries.
A crime scene was declared, and a 37-year-old woman was taken into custody.
She has since been charged with grievous bodily harm and wounding and is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court today (July 27).
The man and woman are known to each other.
Update: Dangerous driving, Sunshine Coast
Two men have been charged with numerous offences after a stolen ute and trailer allegedly rammed a vehicle at high speed on the Sunshine Coast yesterday morning.
It will be alleged the white Mitsubishi Triton and trailer were stolen from Belli Park on July 25 before being involved in a hit and run northbound on the Bruce Highway around 8am.
The Triton collided with a Nissan Pathfinder before allegedly attempting to force the vehicle, containing a family of five, off the road.
The stolen ute then continued to travel at speed along the Bruce Highway while the Pathfinder followed, before both vehicles pulled over and the drivers exited.
The male driver of the Triton then allegedly threatened the other male motorist before hopping back in the stolen vehicle and ramming the Pathfinder while the other passengers, including children, were still inside.
The driver of the Triton then fled the scene in the damaged vehicle. None
