Robbery and extortion charges, Buderim

Sunshine Coast detectives have charged two men following an alleged robbery in Buderim on January 2.
It will be alleged at 8.20pm, two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, forced their way into a Clatworthy Court home.
Police will further allege the men threatened an occupant and demanded money and property.
It will be further alleged one a 39-year-old man’s shoulder was injured as the men forced their way into his home.
The men allegedly left the home with a quantity of property including, computer devices, mobile telephones, money, identification, tools and personal belongings.
On January 4, detectives from Maroochydore Criminal Investigation Branch executed a search warrant at an address in Caloundra West.
During the search several items were allegedly located and seized, including a sawn-off rifle and property belonging to the 39-year-old man.

Robbery with violence, Mount Gravatt East, Woodridge and Capalaba

Police are investigating a series of linked robberies overnight around Brisbane and Logan areas.
At around 10:20 pm yesterday, at a Mount Gravatt East address, a 28-year-old man was set upon by three Caucasian men as he arrived home in his white Toyota Carolla sedan, bearing Queensland registration 881 LZP.  One of the men threatened the 28-year-old with a firearm, removed him from the vehicle and physically assaulted him.
It is believed the vehicle was then used, at about 12:04 am, in an attempted robbery of a service station on Compton Road Woodridge where a man and a woman unsuccessfully tried to break through the front window with a hammer.
At about 12:30 am, police responded to reports of an armed robbery at a service station in Johnson Road, Woodridge.  There two offenders entered the service station by smashing the glass doors the male threatened the console operator with a firearm demanding cash

Update: Armed robbery, Slade Point

Investigators have released an image in an effort to identify the man responsible for an armed robbery at a Slade Point convenience store yesterday evening.
At around 9:24 pm an armed man (pictured) entered the Finch Street store brandishing a knife and demanded cash.
As he attempted to flee on foot, the man was confronted by a 20-year-old Slade Point man, and hr dropped some of the cash.
Police investigations are continuing.

Update: Assault investigation, Graceville

Two men have been charged following the alleged assault of a man in Graceville yesterday.
Police will allege they were called to the Graceville Train Station at 10.45am following reports there had been an altercation between a group of men on the train.
One of the men, a 24-year-old, sustained injuries to his abdomen and chest and was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A 29-year-old man from Rosewood was subsequently charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, wounding, going armed so as to cause fear, possess dangerous drug and possess drug untensil.
A 29-year-old man from Glenore Grove was subsequently charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, wounding and going armed so as to cause fear.
They are both due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on January 7.

Property offenders charged in Toowoomba

Toowoomba police have charged two men and a woman with a range of stealing and burglary offences in Toowoomba in recent days.
On January 3, officers located three people in vehicle in Rangeville that was allegedly stolen from Rangeville sometime between December 27, 2018 and January 3, 2019.
Investigators have then been able to locate further property that was allegedly stolen over the past month at other addresses at Middle Ridge and Rangeville in December.
Police would particularly like to thank members of the public for their assistance with this investigation and the information that was supplied to officers.
A 25-year-old Kearneys Spring man has been charged with four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of burglary, two counts each of unlicensed driving and stealing vehicle offences and one count of trespass.
A 19-year-old Gowrie Mountain man has been charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle

Two men are in custody after a man was assaulted in Graceville earlier today.

Appeal for witnesses – Bus assaults, Brisbane North

Police investigating two assaults which left a man and woman with facial injuries in Chermside and Everton Park last month have released vision to assist with identifying a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.
Around 7.45pm on Sunday, December 9, a 40-year-old man was sitting on a bus as it stopped on Maundrell Terrace, Chermside West when he was assaulted and sustained facial injuries by a man who was exiting the bus.
In a separate incident, it is believed the same man assaulted and caused facial injuries to an 18-year-old woman at around 5.45pm on Wednesday, December 12. She was seated on a bus when it stopped on South Pine Road at Everton Park at the time of the assault.
Anyone who travels around the Albany Creek Road, Maundrell Terrace area in Aspley or Chermside West and South Pine Road, Everton Park who may have witnessed either incident or recognises

Armed robbery, Caloundra West

Detectives are investigating after a pharmacy was robbed in Caloundra West earlier this morning.
Around 9.30am, a man entered a pharmacy on Rawson Street and produced a knife.
He made demands for medication, and when staff complied and handed him a small amount of the medication, he fled the scene on foot.
No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.
The man was last seen getting into a white van, possibly an older model Toyota, with no registration plates.
He is described as Caucasian in appearance, in his 60s and has a solid build and around 175cm tall.
He was last seen wearing a black beanie, clear safety glasses and a beige coloured shirt.
Anyone with any information which may assist investigators are being urged to contact police.

Day 12 – Christmas Road Safety Campaign (phase 2)

Today marks Day 12 of the Christmas Road Safety Campaign (phase 2) and a total of 12 people have died in 11 separate crashes.
A total of 120 drug tests were conducted yesterday with 23 returning a positive result.
This adds up to a state total of 2476 drug tests that have been conducted over the period, with 506 returning a positive reading.
There were 2341 speed camera detections that occurred yesterday, and the total for the 12 days has been 40,862 detections.
Of note, the highest speed of the campaign was recorded overnight when a vehicle was allegedly detected doing 171 in a 100km/h zone on the Bruce Highway at Bauple.
A motorist in Longreach was also detected with an alleged blood alcohol concentration reading of 0.207, and the state’s highest reading over the campaign period was 0.330 in Townsville on Day 7.
