Police officer charged, Road Policing Command

A 52-year-old male senior constable from Road Policing Command has been issued with a Notice to Appear for nine counts of computer hacking.
The officer was the subject of an investigation that he conducted unauthorised searches on Queensland Police Service information systems not connected with official duties.
The officer has been issued with a Notice to Appear for nine counts of Computer Hacking, section 408E of the Criminal Code and is to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 30, 2019.
This matter will be subject to further consideration within the QPS disciplinary system.
In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.
This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.

Wounding, Stafford

Detectives are investigating after a man was assaulted at a residence in Stafford this morning.
Preliminary investigations indicate at around 9:00am three men forced their way into a residence on Stafford Road.
Once inside the three men assaulted two men, stabbing one man in the leg with a knife and hitting him with a hammer.
The three men then fled the scene in a Grey 2010 Holden Commodore with Queensland registration 795-TOZ (similar to pictured).
The men are described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in their 20s.
A 22-year-old man was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment of stab wounds to his legs and a fractured arm.
A 39-year-old man received minor bruising as a result of the incident.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with dashcam vision from Stafford Road around 9am this morning to contact police.

Update: Robbery with violence, Chandler

Police have charged a man following the alleged assault of a traffic control worker at Chandler on December 12.
A man was controlling traffic at a worksite on Mount Gravatt – Capalaba Road at 11.25pm when he flagged down a car that was allegedly speeding.
Police will allege the occupants of the car then stopped and the driver got out and repeatedly assaulted the controller with a traffic control sign and a lighting baton.
The man’s wallet and phone were allegedly stolen before the men fled the scene in the car.
A 50-year-old man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment of lacerations and bruising to his face.
A 25-year-old Alexandra Hills man has been charged with two counts each of assault occasioning bodily harm and possession of dangerous drugs and one count of driving a motor vehicle without a licence.
He is due to appear in Cleveland Magistrates

Update suspicious house fire, Norman Gardens

Officers investigating a suspicious house fire in Norman Gardens have charged a man with arson overnight.
Emergency services were called to a house that was on fire yesterday at 4am on Pftzemaier Street.
The house was extensively damaged as a result.
A 32-year-old Koongal man has been charged with one count each of arson and stealing and is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.

Renewed appeal for information, hit and run Bahrs Scrub

Forensic Crash Unit investigators are renewing their appeal for public assistance in relation to a hit and run traffic crash, a year ago today.
On Thursday, December 14, 2017 Johnnie Walker was he was hit by a vehicle on Wuraga Road near the intersection with Prangley Road.
The then 63-year-old was hit around 7.40pm and sustained multiple rib fractures, a number of broken bones, severe bruising, required several blood transfusions and was in hospital for three months recovering. He continues to suffer from the injuries and has not regained the full use of his damaged left shoulder and arm.
Vision of a vehicle, the driver of which may be able to assist with inquires, has been previously released by investigators as they appeal for anyone who recognises the vehicle or has further information to contact them.

Update: Fatal traffic crash, Fredericksfield

Police investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at Fredericksfield this morning are appealing for any witnesses to the crash or motorist with relevant dash-cam footage to contact police.
Investigations indicate at around 10:30am the woman’s car was struck by the train at a crossing on Fredericksfield Road.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 55-year-old Fredericksfield woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No one else was physically injured during the incident.
Police would like to speak with two men who assisted at the scene who police believe may have witnessed the incident.
Any members of the public who know these men or have information about the crash are urged to contact police.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Bus driver assault, Bracken Ridge

Police have charged a 19-year-old man following an alleged assault of a bus driver at Bracken Ridge this afternoon.
It is alleged at about 4.20pm the male driver of a bus on Barrett Street was involved in a verbal altercation with a male passenger when the driver demanded the man exit the bus.
It is further alleged the man then punched the driver a number of times and headed butted him causing injuries to the driver’s face.
Members of the public who witnessed the incident came to the assistance of the bus driver and restrained the man until police arrived.
The 62-year-old driver was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The 19-year-old man is charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear in the Sandgate Magistrates Court on January 7.

Fatal traffic crash, Feluga

A woman has died following a two vehicle crash in Feluga this morning.
Preliminary investigations indicate just after 9:00am a car was crossing the Bruce Highway when it collided with a truck travelling north on the Bruce Highway.
The driver of the car, an 18-year-old Feluga woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 53-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was transported to Tully Hospital.
The driver of the truck, an 57-year-old man, was also transported to hospital for treatment.

Serious traffic crash, Benarkin

Police are investigating a serious, two vehicle crash which happened this afternoon in Benarkin.
At around 3pm, police were called to the crash on the D’Aguilar Highway, near the intersection of Scott Street, following reports of a head-on collision between a sedan and a truck.
The collision forced the sedan off the road where it impacted with trees.
The male driver and sole occupant of the sedan, aged in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment.
The truck driver was not physically injured during the incident.
The Forensic Crash Unit attended and will conduct investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
