Armed robbery charge, Cotton Tree

Police have charged a 28-year-old man following the alleged armed robbery of a convenience store at Cotton Tree on Sunday night.
It will be alleged around 7.30pm a man threatened an employee with a knife before stealing a sum of cash from the till.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
A 28-year-old man was today arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery.
He is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Suspicious deaths, Alva

Police are investigating following the suspicious deaths of two men at a residence in Alva, near Ayr last night.
It will be alleged that shortly after midnight a 29-year-old woman attended an address in Alva.
A short time later a group of men also attended the residence and an altercation has occurred, resulting in two of the men sustaining critical stab wounds.
The men, aged 27 and 37, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A man has been taken into custody and is currently assisting with inquiries.
The woman has been transported to Townsville Hospital for further treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
There is no further information at this stage.

Wounding, Chermside

Police are investigating after a man sustained stab wounds during an altercation at Chermside last night.
It is alleged a man attended a Wallace Street address around 7.30pm, forced entry into the home and grabbed a knife.
He then became involved in a physical altercation with a 20-year-old man who he allegedly stabbed a number of times in the chest and shoulder.
The two men are known to each other.
The man attempted to flee the scene however police arrested him upon arrival.
Both men were transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for further treatment, the victim in a stable condition.
A 21-year-old Northgate man is assisting police with their inquiries.
Investigations are continuing.

Charges after vehicle thefts, Ayr

An 18-year-old man has been charged after several vehicles were allegedly stolen and a police car was rammed in Ayr yesterday.
Around 9.20am officers patrolling in Queen Street attempted to intercept a Kia Cerato alleged to have been stolen from a Hans Christian Street address in Sarina earlier in the morning.
When officers activated their lights and sirens it will be alleged the driver accelerated away at speed and evaded police.
A short time later police attended a Graham Street residence where it will be alleged a female occupant had been assaulted before her Mazda 3 sedan was stolen.
Around 11.40am as officers were patrolling Irving Street a Road Policing Command vehicle was allegedly rammed by a stolen Peugeot hatchback.
The officer was not injured but the police vehicle was damaged.

Serious traffic crash, Bowen

Police are conducting inquiries into a single vehicle traffic crash at Bowen last night in which a 47-year-old man was critically injured.
Preliminary information indicates around 5.45pm a sedan was travelling along Bootaloo Road when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed.
The 47-year-old driver sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Townsville Hospital.
The 46-year-old male passenger was taken to Bowen Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.

Burglary with violence, Kingston

Detectives investigating a burglary at Kingston in August have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
Around 4.30pm on August 26, a man entered a Barossa Street residence before punching and kicking two 38-year-old men.
He then tied up one of the men with computer cables and stole cash, alcohol and car keys.
The man attempted to steal the victim’s car but was unable to start it and was seen getting into a blue Mazda 3 sedan nearby.
The man is described as being Pacific Islander in appearance with a large build and had a plated rat’s tail at the time.
Anyone who may recognise the man depicted in the photo or has any other information regarding the matter is urged to contact police.

Armed robbery, Caloundra

Police are searching for a man who held up a coffee shop at Caloundra last night.
Just before 9pm, a man armed with a tomahawk, threatened staff at the Park Place store, demanding they handover cash from the till.
The employee complied and the man fled with a sum of cash.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
The man is described as being about 30 years old with a tanned complexion, solid build and a black beard.
He was wearing a black hooded jumper with white text and black jeans.

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a store in Redcliffe today.
Shortly before 3.30pm, a man entered the Oxley Avenue business and threatened the female employee with a knife while demanding money from the cash register.
The man took the contents from the till before fleeing the store.
The staff member was not injured during the incident.
The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 180cm tall with a proportionate build.

Serious traffic crash, Gayndah

Police are investigating a serious, single vehicle traffic crash which occurred in Gayndah overnight.
At around 1am, a member of the public located a vehicle in bushland off Gayndah Mundubbera Road, approximately 10 kilometres west of Gayndah.
Emergency services attended the scene where they extracted the driver from the vehicle.
The female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, aged in her 30s, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment to significant head injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Unlawful wounding, Clermont

A 41-year-old man has been arrested after a 20-year-old man was seriously assaulted at a caravan park in Clermont overnight.
It will be alleged a physical altercation involving several people occurred at the Haig Street caravan park around 1.45am.
During the incident a 20-year-old man sustained a severe knife wound to his neck.
He was airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital in a critical condition.
