The Queensland Police Service is seeking urgent public assistance to help locate a two-year-old boy who was taken from a South Brisbane medical facility at 8.10pm yesterday.
The child requires medical treatment and is at significant risk.
A man and woman were seen taking the boy and putting him into a car and driving him away before he was seen by doctors.
The woman and man are urged to take the child to hospital and contact police as soon as possible.

Wilful damage, Strathpine

Police are investigating significant damage caused to an office overnight in Strathpine.
Around 2.20am, police were called to the Gympie Road address by a member of the public, to find brick pavers had been thrown at the windows causing extensive damage.
Police believe the incident occurred around 1.45am.
Four reinforced glass windows and two glass doors were smashed with some of the brick pavers also leaving puncture holes on the walls inside.
It is believed no one entered the address during the incident.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time of the incident to please contact them.

Update 4: Homicide investigation, Woodridge

Logan Detectives have charged a man following investigations into a fatal stabbing which occurred in Woodridge on Saturday, August 18.
At approximately 11pm, a 37-year-old man was walking along Ewing Road with three other people, when they allegedly became involved in an altercation with a group of three men – who had two children under the age of 10 with them – in Prince Park.
The 37-year-old man was allegedly stabbed in the neck during the altercation and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, where he died overnight on August 21.
This afternoon officers attached to Operation Quebec Larimar arrested a 29-year-old Woodridge man at an address in Woodridge.
He has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of going armed so as to cause fear.
He is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

Queensland Road Safety Week launched for 2018

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey, along with Minister for Police and Minister for Corrective Services, the Honourable Mark Ryan and Commissioner Ian Stewart, have issued an urgent plea to Queensland motorists in the lead up to this year’s Queensland Road Safety Week.
Queensland Road Safety Week is a joint initiative of the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Queensland Police Service working in collaboration with RACQ and CARRS-Q.
The road toll as of 8am this morning was 14 more than this time last year, with 166 lives lost so far.
Mr Bailey urged motorists to consider the risks of unsafe driving every time they got behind the wheel.
“We are preparing for our fourth annual Queensland Road Safety Week next week, but driving safely is a year-round responsibility for all motorists,” Mr Bailey said.
“Last year, distraction, drink driving and riding, fatigue, speeding and not wearing a seatbelt were a factor in 56%

Arson charges, Yeppoon house fire

A man has been charged with arson following a house fire that occurred in Yeppoon last week.
Police were conducting patrols of the area in the early hours of 19th August when they saw smoke coming from the Maple St address.
The building was well alight and the officers attempted to gain entry to the house to make sure no one was inside, but were forced back by smoke and flames.
One officer was transported to hospital suffering smoke inhalation.
After the fire was extinguished, initial investigations revealed the cause to be suspicious and a crime scene was declared.
The home was extensively damaged by the fire and fortunately no one was injured.
Today Yeppoon detectives arrested a 44-year-old Yeppoon man and expect to charge him with one count of Arson and one count of Entering a dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He will appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court this afternoon.

Fatal traffic crash, Banksia Beach

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating after a woman has died of injuries sustained in a traffic crash that occurred at Bribie Island on Monday.
On August 20 at 3.45pm, a woman was crossing Seaside Drive when she was hit by a dual cab utility.
A 76-year-old Banksia Beach woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital but passed away early this morning, August 23.
The 56-year-old driver of the utility was not physically injured.
Police are appealing for any witness to the crash, or anyone who may have seen the lady walking prior to the crash to contact them.

Suspicious fire at Heritage Park

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at an early learning centre at Waller Road at Heritage Park in the early hours of this morning.
Around 1.20am, police were called after a fire occurred at the rear of the centre causing extensive damage to a large elaborate outdoor children’s playground.
Police are appealing for anyone who might have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time of the fire to contact police.

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, North Brisbane

Police have charged a boy with 22 offences after a vehicle was allegedly driven dangerously, ramming two police cars on Brisbane’s north overnight.
At around 9:20pm police observed a car with a stolen number plate being driven along Nudgee Road in Banyo.
Police began tracking the vehicle with the assistance of Polair when the car allegedly ran a red light, colliding with a four-wheel drive at the intersection of St Vincents Road and Toombul Road.
When police tried to intercept the car on Selmur Lane it will be alleged the vehicle rammed two police cars before fleeing the scene.
Police continued to track the car with the assistance of Polair before the driver exited the vehicle on Charlock Road in Bracken Ridge and fled on foot.
Officers attended the scene and took a teenage boy into custody in bushland near Charlock Road, just before 9:50pm.
No officers or members of the public were physically injured during

Armed robbery, West End (Townsville)

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a bottle shop in Townsville overnight.
At around 7pm a man entered the business on Stagpole Street armed with a knife.
The man demanded money from a staff member before fleeing the scene on foot with a sum of cash.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
The man is described as having a dark complexion, aged in his 20s and approximately 165cm tall.
He was last seen wearing dark clothing with a dark balaclava and running into nearby Cutheringa Park.
Anyone with information or CCTV footage from the area is urged to contact police.
