Update – Armed robbery, Nerang

A 34-year-old man has been charged in relation to the armed robbery of a service station at Nerang on July 11, 2018.
During the incident it is alleged a man entered the Riverview Road business armed with a knife. The female staff member retreated to a locked room at the rear of the store and the man allegedly removed some cigarettes before leaving the store.
A 34-year-old Wynnum West man has been charged with armed robbery.
He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Homicide investigation, Murrumba Downs

Detectives from Pine Rivers Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are continuing to investigate the suspicious death of a man who was located in Murrumba Downs yesterday.
Officers were called at 5.45am after a man sustained serious stab wounds and was located on Blyth Road near a service station.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene and has been identified as 41-year old Nathan Frazer.
Police have launched Operation Quebec Amadeus and an investigation centre with local detectives being assisted by the Homicide Squad has been established at Petrie Police Station.
Investigations to date have established that 39-year-old man Lee Hillier (pictured) may be able to assist police with their enquiries.
Officers would like to advise members of the public not to approach the man if they see him but to contact police immediately.
Investigations are continuing.

PUBLIC APPEAL FROM NEW SOUTH WALES POLICE – Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad appeal to locate wanted man from Lightning Ridge

Police are appealing for assistance from the community to locate a wanted man from the state’s north.
Joseph Lowe, aged 51, is wanted on an arrest warrant for child sex offences.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall, with a thin build, light brown hair, and hazel eyes.
Investigators believe the man, who is from Lightning Ridge, may have travelled to North Queensland.
Police have also received information Mr Lowe may be in possession of firearms.
Officers from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad are seeking information from the community about Mr Lowe’s current whereabouts.
If sighted, members of the community are urged not to approach Mr Lowe; instead, they should contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
Anyone with information that may assist detectives is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Update: Fatal traffic incident, Nambour

A woman has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and grievous bodily harm following a fatal traffic incident in Nambour on June 17.
It will be alleged that at 12pm a vehicle reversed into a 57-year-old woman and two girls aged six and seven from Ninderry as they were on a pedestrian crossing in a supermarket carpark on Mill Lane.
The six-year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Nambour Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The seven-year-old girl suffered a non-life threatening lower leg injury and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The 57-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she remains, now in a stable condition.
An 86-year-old woman was today issued with a Notice to Appear for July 25 in Maroochydore Magistrates Court.

Escape custody, Dalby

Police are appealing for assistance to locate a woman who escaped custody at Dalby Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon.
The 30-year-old woman had just attended sentencing around 12.25pm and was given permission to attend the restrooms before she allegedly fled.
The woman was restrained by handcuffs at the time.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the woman (pictured) or know her whereabouts to come forward.
There are no concerns for public safety in relation to this incident.

Update 2: Evade police, Brinsmead

Investigations into the whereabouts of the male driver who fled the scene of a traffic crash at Brinsmead continued overnight.
An allegedly stolen utility crashed into a tree in the vicinity of Glenoma Park, after evading an attempted police intercept.
The male driver fled on foot and was not able to be located.
The vehicle, which was allegedly stolen from the Atherton Tablelands in February, was seized for forensic examination.
Officers focused their search efforts on the suburb of Aeroglen early this morning.
At around 8.40am, detectives approached a residence on Palmerston Street at Aeroglen and a man fled on foot.
The 27-year-old Goldsborough (via Gordonvale) man was taken into custody at the scene.
He is now assisting police with their inquiries.
A woman has also been charged with one count each of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a thing used in the commission of a crime and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Boys charged after 2017 store break-in at Carvonica

Two 17-year-old Whitfield boys were charged yesterday following investigations into a break and enter incident at Caravonica last year.
It will be alleged that entry was forced to a Lake Placid Road furniture business on or about April 30. No property was stolen as a result of the offence.
Smithfield detectives attended two addresses in Whitfield yesterday evening and spoke with the boys. They were both charged with breaking and entering premises.
Police looking for owners of stolen property, Cairns: Detectives investigating the origins of a large amount of suspected stolen property will be speaking with possible owners who will be able to view the items at the Cairns Police station this morning.
Innisfail CIB officers located the property at a residence in Clyde Road at Babinda during an emergent search last Thursday.

Update: Evade police incident, Brinsmead

A 30-year-old woman from Mount Sheridan has been charged following a traffic crash at a Brinsmead park reserve last night.
The woman was a passenger in an allegedly stolen utility that crashed into a tree in the vicinity of Glenoma Park, after evading an attempted police intercept.
The male driver fled on foot and was not able to be located.
The vehicle, which was allegedly stolen from the Atherton Tablelands in February, was seized for forensic examination.
Officers arrested the woman at the scene and a search of her handbag allegedly located a quantity of methylamphetamine and a set of scales.
She was subsequently charged with one count each of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a thing used in the commission of a crime and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
The woman is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on July 27.
