Serious assault, Calamvale

Police investigating the alleged unprovoked assault of a woman at a Calamvale shopping centre last week have released CCTV of the incident as part of the investigation.
Around 11.55am on Tuesday, March 10 two women exited the Big W store at the Compton Road, Calamvale shopping centre when a man walked up behind them.
He called out to the women, and when they turned around, punched one of the women in the face, knocking her to the ground and causing her glasses to go flying.
The man then calmly walked passed the women before doubling back and meeting up with a female companion near the entry to Big W.
A 28-year-old woman was transported to hospital for treatment to a laceration and bruising.
Investigations to date indicate there is no known connection between the man and the two women.

Update 3: Homicide, Redcliffe

Detectives investigating the murder of a 15-year-old boy in Redcliffe on March 13 have released CCTV vision of a man they believe may be able to assist with enquires.
Two teenage boys have been charged with one count each of murder and attempted armed robbery last night.
It will be alleged around 8:10pm three males confronted a group of four teenagers in a car park on Anzac Avenue.
An altercation occurred during which a 15-year-old boy from Clontarf was stabbed in the chest.
He was transported to Redcliffe Hospital where he later died.
Anyone who may recognise the man depicted in the CCTV or has any information regarding the matter is urged to contact police.

Assault and wilful damage, New Farm

Police are investigating an assault and wilful damage in New Farm overnight.
Around 9.35pm, approximately seven men arrived in two cars to a block of units on Lamington Street.
A few of the men gained entry to the unit complex then returned to the street. They used bats to damage four panes of glass in the unit complex and five cars parked on the street.
The group of men assaulted two people on the street and attempted to steal a watch from one of the victims.
The group of men then fled in the cars they arrived in.
The men are described as having a dark complexion.
Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who has vision to contact police.

Armed robbery charge, Rockhampton

A man has been charged after the alleged armed robbery of a supermarket in Park Avenue this afternoon.
It will be alleged just before 3pm a man entered the store on Main Street and attempted to purchase a packet of cigarettes.
After the man’s key card was declined he allegedly produced what appeared to be a firearm and took the cigarettes from the attendant before leaving left the scene in a vehicle.
Police attended and conducted patrols of the area before a man was located and arrested in a car at Park Avenue a short time later.
A replica firearm was also found in the vehicle.
A 32-year-old Kawana man has been charged with armed robbery, enter premises with intent and possession of utensils.
He is due in Rockhampton Magistrates Court tomorrow (March 16).

Update 2: Homicide, Redcliffe

Police have charged two teenage boys with murder following the alleged stabbing death of a 15-year-old boy in Redcliffe on March 13.
It will be alleged around 8.10pm three males confronted a group of four teenagers in a car park on Anzac Avenue.
An altercation occurred during which a 15-year-old boy from Clontarf was stabbed in the chest.
He was transported to Redcliffe Hospital where he later died.
Ongoing investigations by Moreton Crime Group and State Homicide Squad have today led to the arrest of two 14-year-old boys from Kingston and Logan Central.
They have been charged with one count each of a murder and one of attempted armed robbery.
Detectives are still investigating the involvement of a third male and appeal for anyone with further information to contact police.

Arrest of property offender, police vehicles rammed, Kuranda

Tableland detectives have charged a man with seven offences after three police vehicle were allegedly rammed at Kuranda on Friday afternoon, March 13.
It will be alleged police attended an isolated rural property at Oak Forest Road at around 3.10pm to speak with a man in relation to a large number of property offences committed between July 2019 and March 2020.
As one of the police vehicles pulled up and officers exited the car, a man ran to a stolen Toyota Landcruiser 4WD with large bullbar, which was parked nearby.
He revved the engine before driving it at the police vehicle, where one of the offficers was standing next to an open door. This officer was forced to jumped back into the police car, narrowly avoiding being hit by the vehicle as it struck the door of the police car.
The 4WD then drove past the first police car, down the driveway before colliding

Fatal traffic crash, Moorooka

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that claimed the life of a man in Moorooka this morning.
At about 10:40am a car travelling along Evans Road lost control and crashed into a house on the corner of Gladstone Street and Muriel Avenue. During the crash the car also hit a power pole.
The elderly male passenger of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 79-year-old Camp Hill man, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen or has dashcam footage of a white Toyota Camry station wagon prior to the crash to contact police.
The occupants of the home were not injured during the incident.
Forensic Crash Unit continues to investigate.

Serious traffic crash, Advancetown

Three riders have been injured, one critically after two motorcycles collided at Advancetown this morning (Sunday, March 15).
Preliminary information indicates that at around 8.10am a southbound and a northbound motorcycle collided on a sweeping bend on Nerang Murvillumbah Road.
The rider of one of the motorcycles, a 42-year-old Oxenford man, sustained critical injuries and was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.
The rider of the other motorcycle, a 58-year-old NSW man and his 18-year-old female passenger, also from NSW, were both seriously injured and transported to the same hospital.
Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.

Update 1: Aviation incident, Lockhart River

There are so many worthy causes to donate to across the state, but sadly there are people in the community who do take advantage of the generous nature of Queenslanders.
Police have identified a fraudulent charity page for the one of the victims of last week’s aircraft crash in Lockhart River.

Fatal traffic crash, Clayfield

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Clayfield overnight.
Preliminary investigations indicate around 10.35pm, a truck and motorcycle travelling south on Sandgate Road collided.
The motorcycle rider, a 20-year-old Ormiston man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the truck, a 48-year-old man from Regents Park, was not physically injured.
Forensic crash unit investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or who was travelling on Sandgate Road between 10.15pm and 10.40pm and has dashcam footage to contact police.
