Police have charged a 31-year-old man following an incident which concluded in Petrie overnight.
Around 7pm last night (January 4) a silver utility was seen at a Chermside shopping centre on Gympie Road with police wishing to speak with the driver in relation to the alleged theft of a motorcyle.
A short time later Polair 2 picked up the vehicle travelling northbound on Carseldine Road towards Linkfield Road in Brendale.
Around 7:30pm the male passenger has exited the ute on Curlew Court at Kurwongbah.
Not long after, the driver evaded a tyre deflation device on Kurrajong Street at speed, before driving over a second set deployed on Samsonvale Road.
The vehicle came to a stop in nearby Youngs Crossing Creek where the driver fled on foot.
He was arrested without incident just before 8pm at the corner of Dayboro and Youngs Crossing roads sustaining a small laceration to his hand.

Update: Appeal for witnesses – Burpengary East shooting incident
Detectives investigating the Burpengary East shooting incident have located two vehicles of interest.
At about 3am on January 4, police located the blue Holden Commodore at Burpengary East.
At about 3pm on January 5, police located the white Toyota Corolla at Griffin.
A 26-year-old man is currently assisting police with enquires.
Investigations are continuing.

Moreton Police have commenced Operation Sierra Cristo in response to a drive-by shooting at Burpengary East on Friday, January 3, with police appealing for public assistance to help locate three vehicles of interest.
Between 1pm and 2pm on Friday shots were fired into a house in Nectar Way from a vehicle. No-one was injured.
It is believed that at least three vehicles were involved, and they would have most likely attracted the attention of the public due to their manner of driving in and around the Burpengary East estate.

Two overnight break-ins, Gold Coast
Detectives are investigating two break and enters on the Gold Coast this morning.
Around 3:30am two men wearing hoodies have got out of a white Ford Territory and forced entry into a Burleigh Waters shopping centre on West Burleigh Road.
Initial investigations suggest two men have forced entry into the premises and then used a crowbar to smash the glass shopfront of a jewellery store along with multiple glass counters inside the shop.
A significant amount of jewellery was taken.

In another incident, a white Mercedes Benz SUV has driven through the locked doors of a Runaway Bay Shopping Centre on Morala Avenue just after 4am.
The vehicle has then travelled through the complex and smashed into the doors of a jewellery store.
A number of people have exited the vehicle and entered the shop, stealing a number of items.

Update 1: Stolen vehicles, Townsville
Townsville police investigating the theft of three cars yesterday and a number of recent property offences have so far charged a total of nine people with 38 offences, with additional charges expected as investigations continue.
District Officer, Acting Superintendent Damien Crosby thanked the public for their assistance.

A 38-year-old Townsville man charged with three offences which included burglary and possessing dangerous drugs. He was denied police bail and was due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court yesterday (January 3).
A 31-year-old Mount Louisa man charged with 14 offences including five counts of stealing, four counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle (UUMV), three of disqualified driving, one of trespass, and one count of obstruct police. He was denied police
Fatal traffic crash, Springfield
Police are investigating a fatal two vehicle traffic crash which occurred at Springfield yesterday evening.
Initial investigations indicate at about 7.10pm, a motor car heading south and a motorcycle heading north on Springfield Greenbank Arterial Road collided.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 27-year-old Crestmead man received critical injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.

Armed robbery, Beaudesert
Police are investigating an armed robbery incident that occurred in Beaudesert this evening.
At about 7.40pm, a man and a woman entered a grocery store on Oakland Way and threatened a staff member with a metal pole.
The woman removed a quantity of cash and cigarettes from the counter area prior to the pair fleeing the scene.
No persons were injured during the incident.

Stolen vehicles, Townsville
Police have charged five children following the theft of three vehicles from a Cranbrook address early this morning.
At about 5.30am police received a report of a break and enter at a Bryant Street residence.
Three cars were stolen from the address including a white Toyota Corolla, white Toyota Camry and a silver Holden Commodore.
At about 6am the Toyota Camry was located by police on Riverway Drive with damage to the left tyre.
At about 6.15am the Toyota Corolla was involved in a fuel drive off at a Rangeview Street petrol station in Deeragun.
At about 9.10am the Holden Commodore was involved in a fuel drive off at a Pilkington Street petrol station in Garbutt.
At 12.50pm police will allege a youth jumped out of the Holden Commodore along The Strand and stole a handbag from a 39-year-old woman. The child then jumped back into the car.

Police officer stood down revocation, Brisbane Region
A 28-year-old female constable from Brisbane Region who was stood down from the Queensland Police Service has now been returned to duty.
The officer inappropriately accessed the Queensland Police Service computer systems and information.
She pleaded guilty in the Brisbane Magistrates Court to a charge computer hacking and misuse, under s.408E of the criminal code.
She was fined $2000, and no conviction was recorded.
The officer was also subject to internal Queensland Police Service discipline processes, these were finalised on January 2, 2020 with the imposition of a discipline sanction.

Woman charged over armed robbery – Logan Central
Detectives have charged a woman over the alleged armed robbery of a service station at Logan Central this morning.
It is alleged around 8.30am a woman entered the Ewing Road business and yelled out while making threats to rob the store. She then allegedly selected a drink and then waited in line to be served. Once she reached the front of the line she allegedly produced a knife from her shirt and made demands for cigarettes and a lighter from the 19-year-old console operator.
The console operator handed over the items and the woman walked out of the premises.
Police located the woman a short time later walking along Benz Street at Logan Central.
A 45-year-old woman from Brisbane has been charged with armed robbery.
She is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Appeal for information: Indecent assault, Beenleigh
Police have released a computer-generated image of a man allegedly involved in an indecent assault of a woman on December 18 in Beenleigh.
At about 11.20am a 24-year-old woman was walking through Adelaide Circuit Park East in Beenleigh.
The woman observed a man walking towards her and he passed her without incident.
A short time later the same man has allegedly walked behind the woman and touched her inappropriately.
The woman screamed at the man before he ran along Adelaide Circuit Park East around a corner.
The woman reported the incident to police a short time later.
The man is described as Caucasian, about 170cm tall, muscular build, approximately 90kg, with short dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a light blue plain t-shirt and white/tan three quarter length pants.
